Advantages And Disadvantages Of Having Dry Skin

2.67Kviews

We have already talked about the advantages and disadvantages of having oily skin. Dry skin, on the other hand, have mostly disadvantages. Hydration is very important for our body. Having oily skin means it is hydrated. But if it is dry then it is most of the time dehydrated. You can keep buying things from your cosmetics products supplier but there are still going to be some problems with dry skin.

Some advantages of having dry skin

Less Attraction Of Dirt

It tends to attract a lot less dirt and grime unlike oily skin due to the lack of oil. When dirt gets settled on your face it basically blocks the pores making them impossible to breathe. This doesn’t happen in dry skin, which is why they look fresh for a long time. It also gives a matte effect on the face’s appearance which works well.

Lesser Pimples And Blackheads

The main reason for pimples and blackheads is too much-deposited oil. Oily skin is more prone to acne and blackheads. Blocked pores which are a very common occurrence of oily skin as mentioned earlier, lead to the development of pimples, and also give birth to blackheads and whiteheads. If you have dry skin you don’t have to face so many problems, as whatever moisture you would attract from the environment will actually prove to be good in making you look a little nourished, instead of looking flaky and dead.

No Makeup Worries

It doesn’t face the problem of makeup wearing off after some time. Oily skin does not let the makeup stick for much time as the oil doesn’t let it sit. However, those with dry skin don’t face this problem, as with good use of a nourishing lotion and a foundation, the makeup stays on and does not require too many touch-ups.

Some disadvantages of having dry skin

Always Remains Dehydrated And Rough

Whatever you do your skin always seem to stay dehydrated. Roughness becomes a permanent factor. You probably spent a lot of time and money in the parlour for a facial and other kinds of treatments, but yet nothing seems to stay permanent. Use moisturizer as much as possible especially in the winter season.

Ageing Lines Can Be Seen From Very Early age

One of the biggest disadvantages of dry skin is the appearance of the wrinkles and ageing lines. Since your skin is lacking sebum, you would develop cracks or lines very quickly on the surface and that gives you permanent lines and wrinkles. They start appearing right after the early 30s for such people. It is best to start applying anti-ageing cream from the year you turn 30.

Very Difficult To Care For

Not that oily skin is not difficult to care for but with dry skin whatever you do sometimes it all feels pointless. Using moisturizer ten times a day, going to the parlour at least every month, etc. all of it can be sometimes too much.

The best you can do to keep yourself hydrated is to do it from within and the only way to do that is drinking lots and lots of water. Drink at least 4-5 litres water per day and your dry skin problem might lessen within time. Also, get moisturizing products from your cosmetics products supplier regularly.
